’His ability to navigate both broker and carrier dynamics makes him uniquely positioned to lead our underwriting strategy,’ says chief executive

Augmented UW has appointed Luke Overall as its new head of underwriting.

In his new role, Overall will lead the underwriting team, working closely with brokers and carriers to build data-led portfolios that match capacity to risk.

His remit includes shaping the MGA’s technology-enhanced underwriting strategy and supporting the development of digital infrastructure that enables brokers to create their own smart-follow panels.

The appointment follows the launch of Augmented UW in July 2025, with the MGA initially targeting property and terrorism before expanding into other lines in 2026.

Daniel Prince, chief executive at Augmented UW, said: “Overall brings an exceptional blend of technical underwriting expertise, multiclass experience and deep market understanding.

“His ability to navigate both broker and carrier dynamics makes him uniquely positioned to lead our underwriting strategy. As Augmented UW scales across new lines and expands its digital infrastructure, Overall’s leadership will be instrumental in shaping high-performing portfolios and delivering value to our clients and partners.”

Experience

Joining Augmented UW with over 15 years of experience across both MGA and carrier environments, Overall’s expertise spans property, terrorism, cyber and liability with a focus on binder-driven portfolios and strategic underwriting partnerships.

Commenting on his appointment, Overall said: “Underwriter’s play a pivotal role alongside our AI and technology capabilities.

“My focus is helping brokers and carriers connect more effectively, uncover operational pinch points and build scalable, data-driven programmes that deliver measurable results. I’m excited to be part of a team that’s evolving how underwriting works in the London market and to help drive Augmented’s next phase of growth.”
