David Clamp, founder at Camelot, speaks on his firm’s entry to the Business Partner of the Year category
1. Why did you put yourselves forward for the category?
We entered this category because the Direct Line Group partnership perfectly reflects Camelot’s challenger spirit.

It showcased what happens when experienced practitioners roll up their sleeves, embed within a client and deliver lasting change, not reports.
The results spoke for themselves – £5m saved in four months, a stronger culture and renewed confidence across the business.
2. What do you think makes your entry stand out and why should you win the award?
We are redefining what insurance consultancy and partnership looks like.
Camelot’s experts don’t just advise, they deliver. We combine deep industry experience, independent thinking and a culture of generosity that puts outcomes first.
The DLG project proved consulting can be faster, more human and more effective when it’s built on trust and shared purpose.
3. What would winning this award mean to you and your firm?
Winning would recognise not only the success of one project, but a new way of doing things in our industry.
It would celebrate a network of over 150 senior insurance professionals who give first, collaborate without ego and deliver real impact.
For Camelot, it’s proof that the challenger model isn’t just different, it’s better.
