Insurance Times rounds up the biggest moves and promotions from 27 to 30 May 2025
Starting off the week, Zurich UK appointed Georgina Davis as its new head of regional market for the Midlands, south west and Wales.
Davis has spent the last two years as the insurer’s head of broker proposition and distribution. By taking up her new role, she becomes the youngest regional head ever appointed at Zurich at just 28-years-old.
Then, Gallagher appointed Steve Parker as managing director of its UK property broker, Vasek Insurance.
In his new role, Parker will lead a team of 80 staff that specialise in cover for landlords, unoccupied residential property, high net worth private clients, non-standard home and blocks of flats.
Following this, Hiscox hired Peter Clarke as its chair designate, succeeding Colin Keogh in the role.
Clarke, who has executive and non-executive experience within FTSE-listed financial services organisations, is set to join the board on 1 June 2025.
After that, Crypto asset recovery and legal expenses insurance specialist M2 Recovery appointed former minister Chris Heaton-Harris as a senior advisor.
Heaton-Harris served as MP for Daventry from 2010 to 2024 and held several senior government roles.
Rounding off the week, Markel appointed RSA’s former commercial lines managing director Lee Mooney as head of UK, with Neil Galjaard having decided to step down.
Mooney left RSA in May 2024 after the insurer acquired NIG and FarmWeb from Direct Line Group and Sonya Bryson was subsequently announced as his successor.

His career began in 2019, when he joined a local north London newspaper after graduating from the University of Sheffield with a first-class honours degree in journalism.
He took up the position of deputy news editor at Insurance Times in March 2023, before being promoted to his current role in May 2024.View full Profile
