Crypto asset recovery and legal expenses insurance specialist M2 Recovery has appointed former minister Chris Heaton-Harris as a senior advisor.
Heaton-Harris served as MP for Daventry from 2010 to 2024 and held several senior government roles.
This includes secretary of state for Northern Ireland under Prime Ministers Liz Truss and Rishi Sunak, as well as chief whip of the House of Commons under Boris Johnson.
During his tenure as the Northern Ireland minister, he helped implement The Windsor Framework, navigating complex negotiations with the European Union and addressing political challenges within Northern Ireland.
As a senior advisor, Heaton-Harris will use his experience to help M2 Recovery enhance its ability to address the challenges of crypto-related fraud and asset recovery.
Heaton-Harris said: “I’m thrilled to be joining the team at M2 Recovery. In my years as an MP, I dealt with many constituents devastated by the impact of fraud and witnessed the evolution of digital threats facing consumers.

Before becoming a UK MP, Heaton-Harris was a director of a family-run wholesale business for nearly a decade.

Additionally, he was a member of the European Parliament for the East Midlands from 1999 to 2009, where he served as the Conservative Chief Whip from 2001 to 2004.
He was actively involved in combating fraud, mismanagement and waste within the European Commission and other European institutions.

His career began in 2019, when he joined a local north London newspaper after graduating from the University of Sheffield with a first-class honours degree in journalism.
