Aspen Re America has appointed a US-based team of casualty treaty underwriters.
The new team will develop and market a portfolio of products that, the company said, will compliment the activities of Aspen's established US casualty reinsurance team in London, through Aspen Insurance UK Limited.
The new team will be led by Emil Issavi, senior vice-president and head of Aspen Re America Casualty Treaty.
He will be joined by Mark Hoadley, vice-president, Casualty Treaty and Gerard Palisi, vice-president and actuary.
All three join Aspen Re America from Swiss Re America.
Brian Boornazian, Aspen's head of reinsurance, said: "Emil and his team will provide a highly focused, 'on the ground' presence in the US that will open up new avenues and enable us to reach areas in which we don't currently participate."
