AXA UK has appointed Ian Richardson to the board as group business risk director.

In the newly created role, Richardson would have responsibility for operational risk, compliance, internal audit, legal and company secretarial matters, said AXA.

Richardson will report directly to AXA UK group chief executive Dennis Holt.

Richardson will be appointed to the boards of AXA UK's main operating subsidiaries, AXA Insurance, AXA PPP Healthcare and AXA Sun Life, subject to regulatory approvals.

Richardson has been group company secretary of AXA UK since its formation (as Sun Life and Provincial Holdings plc) in 1995.

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.
