Capita has developed a new Identity Theft Resolution Service. The facility will be made available to all holders of Capita's Home and Legacy policy.

Capita is offering customers a dedicated case manager who will repair personal credit files. The case manager will be supported by a document management system that will interact with the three credit agencies.

Simon Lloyd, operations director at Capita's Home and Legacy, said: “Identity theft is a particularly frustrating crime because it's growing so rapidly and is difficult to resolve if you don't have robust systems in place. Capita has developed a unique market solution that is innovative and very efficient and we are delighted to offer this service to our customers.”

Tony Page, sales director of Capita's Helplines, added: “In 2004, 120,000 UK citizens fell victim to identity theft and the high net worth market is a key target for an identity thief. It is also a market segment that demands an efficient, effective and high quality service delivery. Building a reputation for brand security and customer protection is vital for short and long-term business and we are very pleased to extend our product offering to Home and Legacy and their policyholders.”
