More than 80 departing flights were cancelled, while other services faced delays of up to three hours. British Airways said that it had cancelled 44 departures from Heathrow and Gatwick Airports. The majority of cancellations were domestic and European flights.

The BAA are advising passengers to check with airlines before heading to its airports for flights. All flights from Aberdeen airport were delayed and inward bound aircraft were diverted to Edinburgh.

The Meteorological Office has warned of another cold and frosty night, but the cold snap should be over by the weekend.
