’He’s leaving the security of an established national broker to help build an independent business from an early stage and that says a great deal about his belief in what we can create together,’ says founder

Independent insurance broker Insurely has appointed Andrew Cassell as co-founder and managing director as it looks to accelerate growth and build its presence in the UK commercial insurance market.

Cassell will take responsibility for the day-to-day leadership and development of the broker alongside founder Mark Robinson.

The move comes against a backdrop of continued consolidation in the UK broking market, which Robinson believes creates an opportunity for independent brokers to be able to offer clients a more agile and personal service.

He said: “There are fewer genuinely independent brokers in the market today and we believe there’s an opportunity to do things differently.

“We want to understand our clients properly, understand the risks they face and give them a level of personal, responsive service that helps make sure their insurance is right for their business.

“Cassell brings a combination of insurance and risk management expertise that will add another dimension to Insurely as we build and scale the business.”

Experience

Cassell brings almost 13 years’ insurance experience, having started his career as an apprentice before progressing through client management and risk and advisory roles.

He joins from Verlingue, where he was most recently risk management executive.

Robinson said: ”He’s leaving the security of an established national broker to help build an independent business from an early stage and that says a great deal about his belief in what we can create together.”

Cassell added: “When Robinson and I started talking about Insurely, there was a genuine excitement about what we could create. We share a lot of the same thinking about the clients we want to work with and how we want to work with them.

“I want Insurely to become known for integrity. That means doing what we say we’re going to do, understanding our clients’ risks and being honest about what they need. We don’t want to promise that we’ll simply save someone money on their premium.

”We want clients to trust that we’ll understand their business, represent their risk properly and help them put the right insurance programme in place.”
