The appointee is a ‘highly technical and strategic finance leader’, says executive chairman

Speciality MGA Optio Group has appointed Mark Mugge as its new chief financial officer.

A statement released today (8 August 2023) said Mugge, who has over 25 years of experience in the US and London insurance markets, will join the firm effective immediately.

He will report to executive chairman Matthew Fosh.

“I am delighted to announce Mark’s appointment as the new chief financial officer of Optio Group,” Fosh said.

“Mark has worked in the finance departments of both carriers and brokers throughout his career and for the past 20 years he has operated at the highest level.”

Experience

Mugge has joined the firm from Lucida Broking Holdings, where he served as chief financial officer.

Prior to this, he held several senior positions at Ardonagh, including chief financial officer and chief operating officer.

Mugge also worked at Gallagher for nine years, serving as corporate controller in Chicago before taking up the role of chief financial officer of international brokerage in London.

Fosh said Optio “is very fortunate to have him”.

”He is a highly technical and strategic finance leader, with a track record and experience not only within finance, but also across M&A, IT and much else besides,” Fosh added.
