The insurer’s UK&I chief information officer believes the appointee will ‘make a big difference’ to its portfolios
RSA Insurance has appointed James Godfrey as its new transformation director, a statement released yesterday (7 August 2023) revealed.

The role will see Godfrey help drive the insurer’s UK and Ireland (UK&I) strategic transformation roadmap and investment profile.
He will also lead a team that will deliver enterprise-wide programmes, which aim to future-proof RSA’s technology, digital and data capabilities.
Godfrey will report to RSA UK&I chief information officer Oliver Holden.
“At RSA, we have an ambition to transform our tech capabilities to help improve our service delivery by making ourselves a more efficient and simpler organisation to do business with,” said Holden.
“Tech and data are central in helping us to achieve that and are a major contributor in delivering on our long-term business strategy.”
Career background
Godfrey will join RSA from European multinational information technology service and consulting company Atos, where he served as a technology and business change transformation specialist.
Prior to Atos, Godfrey was the UK transformation director at Aviva.
At Aviva, Godfrey was responsible for delivering the insurer’s integrated multi-year strategic investment roadmap and business architecture.
