HDI UK and Ireland has appointed Tom Potter as its new director of liability.
In this position, Potter will lead HDI’s liability underwriting strategy with a focus on delivering profitable growth and technical excellence.

Experience
Potter joins from Axa XL, where he served as global casualty underwriting manager for UK and Lloyd’s sitting in the global chief underwriting office.

He was responsible for assessing the core strategic direction and profitability of the UK and Lloyd’s casualty underwriting portfolios.
In the last 15 years, Potter has held various underwriting roles across casualty, environmental, construction and property.

His career began in 2019, when he joined a local north London newspaper after graduating from the University of Sheffield with a first-class honours degree in journalism.
