Jon Newall, managing director at Prosura, talks about the company’s submission for the Insurance Broker of the Year award

1. Why did you put yourselves forward for the Insurance Broker of the Year category?

We’re working hard to achieve great things for our clients and team and want to celebrate this.

Jon Newall, managing director at Prosura

In under two years, we’ve moved from start-up to scale-up, exceeded GWP targets, acquired two independent brokers and engaged our team in certified training.

By promoting our success, we can champion our category and demonstrate what can be achieved when independent broking is done properly.

In our case, when standards are high, and clients are treated equally regardless of size and spend. We strive to do the best for our clients, with great advice and added value at every step of their journey.

2. What do you think makes your entry stand out and why should you win the award?

Prosura has achieved exactly what it set out to do – only quicker and on a larger scale.

In October, we reached a GWP of £6m, which was initially our year three target!

We are disrupting the market in a positive way.

By supporting the full insurance lifecycle from entry to exit, we are creating a home for talented individuals to develop, while offering a viable alternative for existing brokers that want to exit the industry while protecting their team and clients from consolidators.

We are proof you can scale without sacrificing client service or team development.

3. What would winning this award mean to you and your firm?

Everything!

Firstly, it’s validation that our approach is working and delivering great things for our clients. This is evidenced through our Trust Pilot reviews, which currently sit at 4.9 out of 5.

We see this through our renewals and in how we are developing a reputation for righting the wrongs – which can only be done when you understand the customer and their needs.

Secondly, it reinforces that independent brokers have a positive role to play in our industry.

Finally, it rewards our team. They deserve to be recognised for their commitment, hard work, personal growth and customer service.
