The programme is expected to go live in September 2022

Following Pride last month (June), Lloyd’s of London has launched a pilot LGBTQ+ mentoring programme for those in the corporation and Lloyd’s market, which is expected to be in full swing as of September 2022.

The mentoring programme seeks to support and develop Lloyd’s of London’s LGBTQ+ talent, by helping individuals find the tools and advice they need to develop their careers within the industry via a mentor-mentee partnership.

Each mentoring partnership will last six months.

On its website, Lloyd’s stated: ”We know from our wider mentoring platform that those in mentoring relationships feel more empowered, confident and happier in their careers – something that can be a challenge in the LGBTQ+ community and other minority groups.”

Those interested in the programme, either in the capacity of a mentee or mentor, will need to apply by Tuesday 2 August 2022.

Once all entries have been reviewed, individuals will be selected based on the strength of their application if Lloyd’s has more prospective mentees than mentors. However, it is hopeful that all people can be matched.

Lloyd’s is not making any statements on the mentoring programme at this current time.
