’This appointment is about much more than adding another senior leader. It reflects where we believe the future of insurance is heading,’ says managing director
Moonrock Insurance has appointed Rory Galloway as its new chief data and actuarial officer.

The specialist MGA has created the new role as part of its long-term strategy to invest in data, analytics and actuarial expertise.
Galloway will lead Moonrock’s actuarial, pricing, portfolio analytics and data strategy functions in his new role, aiming to help the business strengthen risk selection, enhance decision-making and identify emerging trends.
Galloway said: “I’m delighted to be joining Moonrock at such an exciting stage of its growth. The company has built a strong reputation for specialist underwriting and innovation within the unmanned aviation sector.
”What particularly attracted me was Moonrock’s ambition to combine deep technical expertise with a modern, data driven approach to insurance. The opportunity to help develop that capability and support the next phase of the company’s growth is incredibly exciting.”
Experience
Galloway joins Moonrock from Markel International, where he served as head of reserving and signing actuary.
