Insurance Times rounds up the most significant appointments, hires and leadership developments from 23 to 27 March 2026
Kicking off this week’s roundup, one of the biggest people move stories saw news break that Intact Insurance’s senior vice president and UK and Ireland chief underwriting officer Nathalie Dufresne was retiring.

The insurer’s UK chief executive Ken Norgrove said: ”In the time I’ve known and worked alongside her, she has shown herself to be the definition of a values‑driven leader, calm under pressure, relentlessly focused on doing what’s right and deeply committed to the people around her.
”Since joining the UK&I team in 2022, she has strengthened our business in ways that will benefit customers, brokers and colleagues for many years to come.”
Then, Westfield Specialty International promoted Katie MacGregor to chief operating officer following 10 years of service at the company.
MacGregor will be responsible for leading operational functions across the international business – covering UK, Middle East and Europe – working closely with senior leadership to support strategic growth plans across these markets.
There was a also big move in the London Market this week as Axa XL appointed Michael Reynolds as its new head of marine for UK and Lloyd’s, as well as its global chief underwriting officer for hull.
Joining from Lockton, Reynolds was most recently the firm’s head of marine for London and was a member of the global marine executive.
Also amongst the top people moves this week was another departure, as specialty (re)insurer Convex Group appointed Bobby Le Blanc as its new chairman following Stephen Catlin’s decision to step down.
Remaining a director at the firm, Catlin has been elevated to the honorary title of founder and life president to reflect his meaningful contribution to Convex since its inception.
Meanwhile, Le Blanc takes on the role after serving as a director of the board of Convex since its formation in 2019 and chief executive at majority shareholder Onex.
Finally, MGA Dual Group has promoted former group chief innovation officer Scott Sayce to the role of group chief commercial officer.
Sayce will report directly to Richard Clapham, chief executive at Dual, and will serve on the Dual Group executive committee (GEC).
Clapham stated that Sayce would be asked to “drive our innovation agenda, as well as ensuring that our strategy remains focused on how we can add real and tangible value to our strategic partners”.
