Odyssey Re Holdings has announced that Robert Giammarco, the company's executive vice-president and chief financial officer, is resigning from the company, effective 15 August 2006, to pursue other interests.

R Scott Donovan will be appointed as executive vice-president and become Odyssey Re's CFO on 15 August 2006.

Donovan is a seasoned insurance executive with more than 27 years of experience. For the past four years, he has served as president and chief operating officer of TIG Insurance Group, an affiliate of Odyssey Re.

Andrew Barnard, chief executive of the company, commented: "During his tenure as CFO, Rob Giammarco has made a deep and lasting impression on Odyssey Re. He has added value to our enterprise in innumerable ways, and we wish him the very best of luck in his further pursuits.

"In Scott Donovan, Odyssey Re has found an individual possessed of broad experience and an exceptional work ethic. As our new CFO, we expect that Scott will be instrumental in building further value for the benefit of Odyssey Re's shareholders, customers and employees. We are delighted to have him join us."
