Irish financial software provider Phoenix Technology Group has secured a €2.5m (£1.5m) contract with Colonial UK, owned by Winterthur Life, the insurance specialist of the Credit Suisse group.

Phoenix has completed a contact management and workflow solution to streamline Colonial's customer contact requirements across its UK offices. Colonial has approximately 400,000 customers.

Phoenix said the solution would improve employee productivity in Colonial by up to 30%.

This would happen by streamlining processes through which customer queries and policy applications were addressed, and by eliminating unnecessary and time consuming administrative tasks, the company said.

Founded in 1997, Phoenix is headquartered in Dublin and has European operations in Bristol and Edinburgh.

It delivers end-to-end contact and e-service solutions to global retail financial institutions.

It also provides web-enabled solutions for multifunctional contact and service centres. This allows organisations to manage complex service processes and high-volume transaction relationships with customers, brokers and suppliers, regardless of the source media (paper, e-mail, e-form, voice).

Customers include AXA Sun Life, CGNU, Royal & SunAlliance, and Scottish Widows/Lloyds TSB.
