NIG loses out, but retains Northern Ireland work

Prestige Underwriting Services has dropped NIG, the capacity provider of its private car business, CarCover, in favour of Allianz. But Prestige’s “longstanding partnership” with NIG will continue for Northern Ireland private car schemes.

“The new relationship with Allianz is an exciting development,” said Prestige motor underwriting manager Neil Harris.

“It will enable us to develop and grow our CarCover scheme. We will now look to widen our distribution of the scheme by expanding our broker base and software house systems.”

An NIG spokesman said: “The intention was always to help Prestige find a new partner in the mainland.”
