Amanda Stevens of law firm Charles Russell appointed

The Association of Personal Injury Lawyers has appointed a new president at its annual conference.

Amanda Stevens will lead the association for the next 12 months, taking over from Martin Bare. Stevens is partner and head of personal injury at Charles Russell's Guildford office and her work includes occupational disease, catastrophic injury and clinical negligence cases.

Stevens has a particular interest in health and safety issues and plays a key role in APIL’s work to promote the use of rehabilitation. She also represents APIL on the International Underwriting Association’s rehabilitation working party.

Taking over the role of vice president is John McQuater, partner and head of personal injury and clinical negligence at Doncaster firm, Atherton Godfrey.

Christopher Limb, a barrister at Young Street Chambers in Manchester, takes on the position of APIL treasurer.
