Speciality lines insurance provider, AXIS Capital has expanded its Asia Pacific Region team with the appointment of Andreas Thiele to the new role of senior vice president director.
The Bermuda-based company said it was currently reviewing plans for a local presence in Asia.
Thiele will lead strategic business development in the Asia Pacific region for the company's global reinsurance and global insurance sectors.
AXIS Capital president and chief executive John Charman said: “The important Asian region is the last of the significant global locations that we at AXIS are contemplating.
“This represents the final building block to our international network and will allow us to maximise our penetration in the region.”
