Brit has recruited Bob Foster, formerly chief executive of Thomas Howell Group UK, to head up a new centralised group claims initiative.
He will take up the newly-created role of group director of claims.
Foster will be responsible for the centralised handling of the group's claims business, whether from Brit Insurance or the group's Lloyd's operation.
The initiative follows the completion in February of a three-month strategic review of the service currently provided by specialist outsourcing companies, as well as a study of its internal operations.
Brit chief executive Dane Douetil said: "Given Brit's rapid growth, the group needs to further develop a customer-focused claims function that also responds to the needs of underwriters."
Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
