Rex Ingram to leave post 43 years after founding company
Rex Ingram, chairman of Midlands brokers, Ingram Hawkins and Nock (IHN), has announced his decision to step down as chairman, 43 years after establishing the company.
He will leave the company in the hands of managing director, Elizabeth Foster, and eldest son, Neale, currently director and the company secretary.
Ingram said he was proud that IHN has remained stoutly independent by resisting potentially lucrative mergers and the threat of off-the-shelf insurance, helped by its membership of the Willis Commercial Network.
He said: "Insurance broking has to be about service, it’s the very object of our existence."
IHN provides competitive bespoke insurance schemes for the recycling industry and organisations such as the Freemasons, for which IHN insures 90% of the country’s Masonic buildings.
