Commercial broker launches offices in Dalkeith

The Insurance Partnership, an independent commercial insurance brokers, has this month launched its first Scottish office.

The office, which is based in the Midlothian and East Lothian Chamber of Commerce Enterprise Centre, in Dalkeith, is part of an ongoing expansion plan by the company, which has UK operations in Hull, York and Sutton Coalfield.

The Insurance Partnership handles £36m of client’s money each year and provides bespoke corporate insurance programmes, with particular specialities in the haulage and logistics, legal and accountancy and agricultural sectors.

It also offers high net worth Private Client Management, Commercial Finance, Health Insurance and Financial Services.

The new office will be led by Scott Davidson, 36, who has worked for The Insurance Partnership for five years and has more than 17 years experience in the industry.

The move marks a return home for Scott, who was born in nearby Danderhall and educated at Dalkeith High School, after several years working in Dublin, Leeds and Hull.

He said: “I have enjoyed working in different places but it was always my intention to come back and establish myself here because I have such strong connections both personally and with the area’s business community.”

Scott added he wanted to build on The Insurance Partnership’s success in England by bringing a “personal touch” to insurance in the Midlothian region.

He said: “I have the backing of a highly experienced team of in-house underwriters and claims support, so it is like having a big company on your doorstep.

“However, anyone who comes to speak to me will get not just a businessman; they will get a trusted friend who will work with them to identify their specific needs.

“We treat all our clients as people rather than statistics.”

Richard Tuplin, a Director at The Insurance Partnership, said the company was keen to significantly raise its profile in Scotland over the next few years he was delighted to be opening a new office.

He said: “The insurance Partnership already has an established client base in Scotland and Scott will continue to provide our services to these clients locally whist remaining on the acquisition trail to expand the office with new clients.”
