The Irish Insurance Federation (IIF) has launched a guide for improving communications between business policyholders and their insurers.
The guide, developed in conjunction with the Irish Business and Employer's Confederation (IBEC) aims to formalise the communications process regarding personal injury claims.
IIF vice-president Paul Donaldson said: "The communication guidelines underpin the importance of unambiguous two-way information channels between insurers and policyholders. These guidelines address safety at work and on the road, handling of personal injury claims and liability and motor policy renewals.
"Importantly the guidelines set out the responsibilities and required actions needed to be taken by an insurer and/or business policyholder in the event of an accident, as well as in the claims handling, litigation and settlement processes."
