Jeremy Pinchin, the head of reinsurance and claims at Lloyd's and a senior member of the franchise performance directorate, has resigned from Lloyd's, according to reports.
Pinchin was Lloyd's special counsel for the 11 September disaster, participating in the co-ordination of the market's response.
He was appointed head of reinsurance and claims in July 2003. His role included responsibility for Lloyd's oversight of both the market's inwards claims and outwards reinsurance, as well as the Lloyd's run-off programme.
A spokesman for Lloyd's said: ""We are very grateful for all that Jeremy has achieved since he joined Lloyd's and are pleased that Jeremy's skills and knowledge will remain in the Lloyd's market. We congratulate him on his new appointment and wish him every success for the future."
Pinchin's departure follows the resignations of both Lloyd's senior analyst Doug Morton, and Quentin Moore, his colleague.
The report also said that former Liberty Mutual and Tempest Re underwriter David Roe has resigned.
