’The reduction will be phased throughout 2026,’ says spokesperson
Aviva has revealed that multiple roles are set to be scrapped following its decision to close down Direct Line Group’s (DLG) By Miles.

The insurer announced last week that it would divest from By Miles following a strategic review. It has now said that it expects 62 roles to be lost as a result of the decision and is working to support those affected.
A spokesperson for Aviva said: “We anticipate a reduction of 62 roles and are working to support those affected, including exploring other opportunities in the wider group.
”The reduction will be phased throughout 2026 to ensure we can continue to serve our customers until the end of their policy.”

After Aviva completed its acquisition of DLG earlier this year, it undertook a strategic review of its businesses.
In Aviva’s latest statement, it said that “any role reductions will be part of the cost savings and role reductions announced when we acquired DLG .”
