The business continued to offer services, despite not being authorised to do so

The FCA has issued a warning about a claims management firm carrying out ”regulated activities which require authorisation”.

UK Claims Department has been providing financial services or products in the UK without the FCA’s authorisation, the regulator said in a release.

UK Claims Department references brokers Carole Nash, Swinton, Bemoto, Bennetts, Devitt and Lexham Insurance on its website.

When contacted by Insurance Times, the business was continuing to trade at the time of writing.

The FCA advises people to only deal with financial firms that are authorised by the regulator.

”Almost all firms and individuals offering, promoting or selling financial services or products in the UK have to be authorised by us.

”However, some firms act without our authorisation and some knowingly run investment scams,” it added.

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.

Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
Many congratulations to all the worthy winners and as always, huge thanks to our sponsors for their support and our judges for their expertise.
