Rosie Denée, head of innovation and commercial education at Lloyd’s, talks about her firm’s entry to the Excellence in Professional Development category
1. Why did you put yourselves forward for this category?

We put ourselves forward because Lloyd’s Academy is more than a development platform – it’s a movement to empower risk professionals globally.
Our mission is to deepen knowledge, foster collaboration and unlock the full potential of the Lloyd’s market for brokers, underwriters and risk managers at every career stage.
We believe our approach to professional development is setting new standards for the industry.
2. What makes your entry stand out, and why should you win the award?
Lloyd’s Academy stands out for its scale, impact and community. We’ve engaged over 14,000 delegates, reached 80% of tier one broker firms globally and built a faculty of over 200 experts from 72 organisations.
Our programmes blend online and in-person learning, business simulations and mentoring, creating a vibrant alumni network that continues to grow.
The academy is about building a global community of risk professionals who champion Lloyd’s and drive better outcomes for clients. Our satisfaction scores (92%), knowledge uplift (40%) and commercial impact speak for themselves.
Winning would recognise our commitment to lifelong professional development and our role as the essential knowledge hub for the industry.
3. What would winning this award mean to you and your firm?
Winning would be a testament to the power of investing in people.
It would celebrate the dedication of our faculty, partners and alumni, as well as reinforce Lloyd’s position as the home of expertise and opportunity in insurance.
For me personally, it would be a proud moment and proof that when we unite talent, knowledge and ambition, we can elevate the entire market and prepare it for the challenges of tomorrow.
