‘The committee reflects our commitment to giving a voice to those at the beginning of their claims careers,’ says chief executive

The London and International Insurance Brokers’ Association (Liiba) has created a new London Emerging Claims Committee (LECC) to support early career professionals working in claims across the London market.

The initiative aims to give a platform to emerging talent by involving them in the future direction of claims handling in the market.

According to Liiba, the LECC will focus on market reform, process improvements and technical issues.

The committee will also help promote claims as a career of choice and support wider educational, collaboration and talent development objectives.

The group is chaired by Jade Moore, associate director at Howden, with Giuseppe Castiglione, technical director at Gallagher Re, serving as deputy chair. Amy Simmons, from Liiba, will act as the committee’s secretariat.

The next generation

LECC members will be drawn from across different lines of business and placement types, with a cap of 14 individuals.

Liiba chief executive Christopher Croft said: “The London market thrives on talent and that talent must be nurtured from the start.

“The committee reflects our commitment to giving a voice to those at the beginning of their claims careers and ensuring their perspectives are included in market discussions.

“By building a diverse, representative and engaged community, we’re strengthening not only the claims function, but the future of the London insurance market as a whole.”
