‘Apprenticeships are a vital way of bringing new talent into insurance and give people a genuine opportunity to build a career in this sector,’ says claims manager
Purbeck Insurance Services has launched a new apprenticeship scheme to mark National Apprenticeship Week, with the MGA aiming to bring fresh talent into the UK general insurance market.

The London-based personal guarantee insurance (PGI) specialist said the 18-month programme would support emerging professionals to build long-term careers in the sector.
Purbeck is currently at the interview stage and expects to appoint up to two apprentices, who will join the business in April. The programme will run until mid-March.
Successful candidates will study towards the Level 3 Insurance Practitioner qualification, delivered in partnership with training provider BPP. Alongside their studies, apprentices will gain hands-on experience across the firm’s operations to develop practical insurance knowledge and professional skills.
Clear route
Nick Linacre, claims manager at Purbeck Insurance Services, said the initiative was designed to create a clear route into the profession.

“The aim of the scheme is to help candidates achieve a recognised qualification, as well as a clear pathway into a long-term, fulfilling career within the business and the wider insurance industry,” he said.
“Apprenticeships are a vital way of bringing new talent into insurance and give people a genuine opportunity to build a career in this sector. Our new programme is designed to give individuals the opportunity to develop confidence and gain real-world experience, ultimately welcoming them into Purbeck as valued members of the team.”
Linacre added that the firm would provide updates as the programme progresses and as apprentices take the next steps in their professional journey.
National Apprenticeship Week celebrates the impact of apprenticeships on individuals, businesses and the wider economy.

Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
