Based in London, the new team aims to provide PI and D&O cover to protect a wide range of service providers from specific exposures
Specialty insurer Mosaic has begun underwriting professional liability coverage through its London office.
The insurer will offer a tailored portfolio of professional indemnity (PI) and directors’ and officers’ (D&O) insurance for a wide range of service providers, including lawyers and specialist engineers, in target industries like oil and gas, marine and aviation.
It also caters to miscellaneous professionals such as actuaries, protection and indemnity (P&I) club managers, security consultants, underwriting agents and insurance brokers.

The new team
Mosaic’s newly founded professional liability team includes:
• Anna Jay, senior vice president, head of professional liability, who oversees the division and its global portfolio. She has almost 20 years’ experience working across the specialty sector, with a core focus on professional liability
• Danny Clack, senior vice president, deputy active underwriter, who supports all business lines through Mosaic’s Syndicate 1609 and has a focus on professional liability. He brings nearly 20 years of experience from Lloyd’s of London and the commercial insurance market to the team.
• Francesca Harland, assistant vice president, underwriter of professional liability, who will focus on developing Mosaic’s US and international professional liability portfolio. She has a strong track record in miscellaneous and emerging risks, as well as working with clients to develop niche products in this area.
• Pete Young, assistant vice president, underwriter of professional liability, who has spent more than a decade at Lloyd’s. At Mosaic, he is responsible for underwriting the professional liability portfolio while developing relationships with brokers and clients.
Jay added: “Our comprehensive products ensure policyholders are protected against exposures specific to their industry, whether they are a sole trader in the oil and gas sector, for example, or a multinational, full-service law firm.

Established in February 2021, Mosaic aims to deploy maximum capacity of $10m for any professional liability risk in both its international and US business.
