Specialist Risk Group (SRG) has appointed Neil Ross as chief underwriting officer of its MGA MX.

Ross will be responsible for underwriting strategy, portfolio performance, insurer engagement and the continued development of MX’s specialist underwriting proposition.
He will join MX later this year, after existing contractual obligations have been fulfilled.
He said: “MX has established itself as one of the most respected underwriting businesses in the market, with a clear vision, strong culture and an impressive track record of growth. The opportunity to join at this stage of the journey was incredibly compelling.
“I am looking forward to working with the team to further develop the underwriting proposition, strengthen insurer partnerships and help drive the next phase of growth for the business.”
Experience
Ross brings more than two decades of underwriting and portfolio management experience gained across the specialty insurance market.

He has held senior leadership positions at Miller, Axis and CNA Hardy.

His career began in 2019, when he joined a local north London newspaper after graduating from the University of Sheffield with a first-class honours degree in journalism.
