‘These appointments represent a significant step in our expansion strategy within the insurance sector,’ says CRO

AutoRek has expanded its insurance sector team with two senior appointments to support insurers’ digital transformation efforts.

The London-based financial controls and reconciliation technology provider has appointed Tony Shek as global sales lead and Meghana Nile to its presales team, doubling down on its current staffing across insurance operations and system modernisation.

The hires mark a renewed push by AutoRek into the UK general insurance market, as the industry continues to face pressure to improve data management and operational efficiency.

Shek joins the firm with more than 10 years of insurance experience, having worked on business strategy and digital transformation projects for Aviva, AIG, Generali, MetLife and HSBC.

He most recently served as head of insurance solutions at CyberSmart, where he led the company’s go-to-market strategy for the insurance vertical and focused on artificial intelligence (AI) implementation.

Nile, meanwhile, brings over 15 years of experience in insurance and financial services, most recently serving as business architect at Allianz Insurance.

Her experience in technology-led system design and architecture will support AutoRek’s client proposition and presales function.

Well positioned

Martyn Ward, chief revenue officer, said the appointments reflected AutoRek’s growing role as a partner to insurers tackling complex data and reconciliation challenges.

He said: “Shek’s deep understanding of insurance operations and proven track record in driving digital transformation, combined with Nile’s multifaceted experience across strategy, architecture and presales, positions us perfectly to help insurers solve their operational challenges while driving industry-wide AI implementation.”

AutoRek currently works with more than 30 insurance clients across multiple lines of business, supporting automation of reconciliation, data matching and financial control processes.

Shek said insurers were under increasing strain to modernise outdated processes.

He said: ”Insurance companies are falling behind other financial services in digital maturity. Many still rely on manual reconciliation processes that can’t keep pace with today’s complex distribution models and regulatory demands.

”My focus will be helping insurers leverage AutoRek’s technology to eliminate operational bottlenecks, modernise legacy systems and improve data quality.”
