Insurance Times looks back at the most read stories from the fourth quarter of 2025, with brokers jailed, companies entering administration and brokers reorganising
Readers kept up their interest with Insurance Times in the final quarter of the year, with the most popular stories covering a selection of big news stories for the market.
The most read story from this period came from November and saw an insurance broker jailed for insider fraud, having diverted customer funds to his personal account by abusing his position of trust.

Leon Price, 45, of Playstool Road in Sittingbourne, Kent, was sentenced to more than five years in prison following an investigation led by the Insurance Fraud Enforcement Department (Ifed).
Despite evidence gathered, Price opted to answer “no comment” to all questions put to him by Ifed officers during an interview. Ifed is now seeking to commence confiscation proceedings under the Proceeds of Crime Act, with funds to be directed to Price’s victims as compensation.
Administration woes
In October, the Financial Conduct Authority had to issue a statement warning policyholders to seek alternative cover, as Gibraltar-based insurer Premier Insurance Company entered administration.
Freddie White and Bradley Chadwick of Grant Thornton were appointed as joint administrators of the Gibraltar-based insurer.
Grant Thornton stated that existing policies would continue to be managed, with claims handled by Davies Group. The administrators also cautioned that some policies could be formally cancelled – known as “disclaimed policies” – as part of the insolvency process, with affected customers to be notified directly.
New structures
The most popular stories from Q4 were rounded out by news from broker Gallagher, which revealed a new operating structure and leadership appointments for its UK retail arm.

Nick Harris, chief executive of UK and Ireland retail broking at Gallagher, told Insurance Times that the move has been in the works for a while and that it is being done “from a position of growth, a position of strength”.
In a later interview with Insurance Times, Harris added: “I felt that perhaps it was time to have a look at the structure to set us up for the next 10 years of growth.”
Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
