It seems that consumer champion Monty Burn has been seduced by the prospect of a nice earner.

The man known to give ASU providers a hard time in the media has launched his own product backed by Hamilton Insurance. And to help sales, Burn has compiled an advisory video.

Mortgage Watchdog director Monty Burn claims that his new video venture will "revolutionise" the ASU industry. He is hoping to release the video to libraries and said the video rental company Blockbuster was interested.

Burns reckons his "salesperson in a box" will give the mortgage, insurance and financial services industry the "positive makeover" it needs.

"The video is a graphic illustration and gives the consumer the right questions to ask," he said.

"At the moment, transparency is just given lip service, but this video could change that."

The Full Monty Experience is a collection of sketches, live music and information. Backchat was particularly intrigued by the use of humorous analogies.

Burns said the video would help brokers and IFAs eliminate "time consuming presentations", and free them up to write more business.

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.

Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
Many congratulations to all the worthy winners and as always, huge thanks to our sponsors for their support and our judges for their expertise.
