The British Standards Institute (BSI) has signed off the PAS 125 standard for crash repair.

The standard has been developed to allow the body repair industry to benchmark their services and working practices and in so doing demonstrate an ongoing commitment to the quality and integrity of repairs.

The next stage is now publication of the document on 25 October, after when the detail will be available for those who wish to become kitemark accredited. The kitemark assessment scheme is due to be launched in February 2007.

Jason Moseley, director of quality and business systems at Thatcham, said: “Thatcham and BSI have received overwhelming support from all members of the steering group who have concentrated their efforts on producing a viable technical standard for crash repair and have completed this complex exercise in the original time frame, solely due to their dedication and commitment.”

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.
