Two appointments at SSPWarren Green has been appointed as account manager within insurer partnerships at Software Solutions Partners (SSP). Green will be responsible for the day-to-day account management, and liaising with other members of SSP with regards to new developments. He was previously a business consultant within SSP's intermediary sales team.Anthony Lee has been appointed as corporate account co-ordinator for SSP client Willis. Lee will be responsible for managing the relationship with Willis as it implements the Insight solution, alongside account manager Martin Randall. Lee was previously a senior support consultant at SSP.

David FangenLondon-based broker David Fangen has appointed Stephen Martin as finance director of David Fangen Ltd, which encompasses David Fangen Holdings and

W Burch & Son Ltd.Martin is currently David Fangen's accounts and IT manager.

W Burch & SonHigh Wycombe-based broker W Burch & Son has appointed Mark Shand as director.Shand joins David Fangen and John Lavender on the board of the company, after his arrival in September 2002 from Norwich Union. W Burch is part of David Fangen Ltd.

FMW Kieron Burrows has joined Chelmsford-based broker FMW as account handler for the transport and logistics team.Burrows has recently been working in the London market and has experience of liabilities, motor fleet, motor trade, marine and goods in transit.

JL Manson & PartnersManchester-based broker JL Manson & Partners has appointed Mike Latham to its board as director. Latham, who was most recently with Independent Insurance in Manchester, gained 12 years of underwriting experience prior to joining JL Manson & Partners in July 2001 as a senior account executive.

PatientChoice David Simpson has joined the board of PatientChoice as a non-executive director. Simpson previously co-founded Petplan in 1976. PatientChoice designs medical insurance products known as hospital treatment plans. The products give policyholders a budget to spend on their private medical care when the policyholder needs a medical procedure or operation.

Cooper GayCooper Gay has appointed Brian Tourle to its special risks division as broker with responsibility for credit and surety business.Tourle has spent more than 30 years within the banking and insurance sectors, including roles as an internal auditor and a commercial lending manager at Barclays, and as a property finance business developer at the TSB Group. He headed the financial contingency team at Independent Insurance, specialising in specific risk trade credit insurance, travel bonds, performance bonds and mortgage indemnity.Since June 2003 Tourle has been running a consultancy, Tangent Financial Risks, which has worked for a number of brokers helping them identify and place credit and surety business.

Quantum Underwriting SolutionsLee Rhodes has joined the board of Quantum Underwriting Solutions as business development director. Rhodes was formerly a senior development underwriter at Chubb Insurance. Quantum is a niche broker, providing bespoke solutions to high net worth clients.

Close Premium FinanceClose Premium Finance has appointed Steven Howell as new business director.Howell has moved to the position from his previous post of deputy operations director. His new role will focus on creating new revenue streams across the UK. He reports directly to director of sales and marketing Alison Mills.Prior to joining Close, Howell spent nine years with Barclays in its asset finance division and, most recently, as corporate director of the City of London team.

Premium FirstPremium First has appointed Nicola Darley as account manager.Darley will be responsible for managing existing broker relationships and maximising sales opportunities. She will work closely with Premium First's business development executives to ensure effective handover of accounts, and will also be responsible for training on all systems, procedures and products.Darley previously spent two years as accounts controller with CIA Affinity Services.

Halliwell LandauLaw firm Halliwell Landau has appointed eight new insurance partners in its insurance litigation team.Promoted to partner are: Judith Bloor, Chris Fletcher, Chris Gough, Judith Martin, David Pugh, Tim Short, Siobhan Sutton and Heidi Swales.

CMS Cameron McKennaPeter Mansfield has been made a partner in CMS Cameron McKenna's insurance and reinsurance group.Mansfield is based in the firm's Bristol office and he bring the number of partners in the insurance and reinsurance group to 16.He trained with the firm and specialises in contentious insurance work, with a particular focus on professional indemnity insurance and construction-related work.

Misys Financial SystemsMisys Financial Systems has appointed Alistair Spencer as insurer relations executive.Spencer has joined Misys from Zenith Insurance, where he worked for ten years as an EDI business analyst. In his new role he is responsible for managing relationships with insurers and for encouraging the use of

EDI technology. Misys has also appointed Paul Matthews as corporate development manager.Matthews has 25 years' experience in the industry. He spent the majority of his career at AA Insurance, where he was national sales manager, responsible for 250 branches. He was also business development director at Bennetts, overseeing insurer relations and sales development. His latest role was business development director for NMT. In his new role at Misys Financial Systems, Matthews will be responsible for building relationships with a number of larger brokers and networks.

Insight InvestmentAlvar Chambers will join Insight Investment in August as specialist portfolio manager, liability-driven investment (LDI).Chambers will focus on developing and managing LDI strategies for insurance clients. He will join Insight from Aon Consulting, where he is principal in the investment consulting practice, currently advising UK pension fund clients. He is chairman of the investment committee of the Association of Consulting Actuaries and a member of the Institute of Actuaries working party on liability related benchmarks and unconstrained investment. Chambers was formerly a senior investment consultant with Hewitt Bacon & Woodrow.

CMSPurley-based Compliance Management Services (CMS) has appointed John Hildrey as consultant to its insurance broking clients.Hildrey will specialise in providing advice on the FSA's prudential and client asset requirements. He was previously head of the general review department at Lloyd's and group chief internal auditor at Legal & General.

Claims Standards FederationThe Claims Standards Federation (CSF) has appointed Dr Tony Burns-Howell as its new chief executive. Burns-Howell will take up the post with immediate effect and will head up a small executive board consisting of independent individuals from outside the claims industry.He has recently advised the Home Office on the creation of a regulatory body for the private security industry and has conducted a review for the government on the risks posed to SMEs by e-business. He also has knowledge of the private sector, having served as a board director for Dixon's Group.Burns-Howell's role will be to represent the CSF and its members to the government, the Better Regulation Task Force, the Law Society and to consult with consumer representatives in the construction of a regulatory code for the claims industry.

Total Accident ManagementTotal Accident Management has appointed David Joyce as business development manager.Joyce has more than ten years' experience of the fleet vehicle market. He has previously worked for Hertz, ALD Automotive and Bank of Scotland.He will be responsible for Total Accident Management's direct fleet market growth.

GAB RobinsGAB Robins has appointed Vic Noble as operations director, field force for both personal and commercial lines adjusting.Prior to his appointment, Noble was commercial loss adjusting services manager for Royal & SunAlliance's loss adjusting services division.Noble will report directly to UK group field operations director Ian Woodhead.

Mansion House ExecutiveSearch and selection firm Mansion House Executive has appointed Clair Hayward as regional manager. Hayward will be responsible for spearheading Mansion House's growth in the Midlands and the North. She joins from Allianz Cornhill, where she was a key account manager, based in Manchester. She is also a past president of the Birmingham Insurance Institute.
