Groupama Healthcare has boosted its management team with three appointments.

The appointments were made as part of the company's reorganisation of its healthcare underwriting division, with technical management, underwriting and administration separated out, said Groupama.

Malcolm Simpson has been appointed PA/travel underwriting manager, with responsibility for pricing structures, technical compliance, reinsurance and all technical and accounting issues for the two product areas.

Simpson was previously technical development manager for Groupama.

Katherine Newberry has been made underwriting and operations manager. Newberry will have responsibility for the overall management and direction to the underwriting operation units.

Newberry was previously accident and health technical pricing and operations manager for the company.

In the final appointment, Alan Bellingham has been promoted to the role of PMI technical underwriting manager.

Director of healthcare, Tim Osborne, said: “The new structure means we now have three separate functions for Underwriting and Operations, PA/Travel Technical Account Underwriting and PMI Technical Account Underwriting.

“This means we will have enhanced overall business controls and will improve our ability to respond to new developments quickly.”

He added: “These changes have been designed to provide Groupama Healthcare with the solid structure it needs to deliver an efficient and professional service to our intermediaries.”
