Information technology company insurE-com has launched insur-E.tam v7.1, the latest version of its back-office solution for its larger, predominantly commercial intermediaries.
The new version also provides additional 'personal lines' products along with further 'commercial vehicle' capability.
insurE-com chief executive Jim McGuinness said: "Over the past year, we have pulled out all the stops with the help of Applied Systems to further develop insur-E.tam to bring it in line with the release schedule in the US."
Built using the latest 32-bit technology, insur-E.tam v7.1 is claimed to be a true Windows back-office solution that incorporates more functionality and technical enhancements than its predecessor. It now also allows standardisation of procedures and business processes.
Each activity performed on insur-E.tam 7.1 is recorded and stored, together with all documents generated, giving full control and recall for full audit tracking. This helps to ensure that tasks are completed on time, providing consistency and preventing errors. Transparency of work and standardised procedures are fundamental to the new FSA regulations that come into force in January 2005.
The FSA's latest consultation paper, CP 187, published in July 2003, summarises the need to comply with good practice. Although the final details are still to be agreed, intermediaries are likely to require robust audit trails and systematic gathering, storing and retrieving of data, which will take time and planning to ensure the systems are in place.
Highly automated, insur-E.tam v7.1 is integrated to the insurE-com portal for real time rating. It provides a broad range of client administration and management functionality that facilitates the efficient and cost effective transaction of commercial lines business, providing brokers with complete Internet enabled business solution from one core desktop application.
insur-E.tam is used by many of the UK's largest commercial lines intermediaries, including Layton Blackham, RP Hodson, Truman Lincoln, Evans and Salt, Brett & Randall, Alec Finch and Keelan Westall.
