What was your insurance industry highlight of 2023?

My highlight for 2023 had to be the Diverse and Inclusive Champions exhibition in the Lloyd’s Old Library – where we commissioned and displayed photos of diversity and inclusion trailblazers across our market as part of the Dive In Festival.

The impact of this initiative has been sensational with over 300,000 views on social media, great coverage in both trade and national press – and most importantly, the room feels different. Every day I see people go into the Old Library, look around and remark on how the new portraits really reflect the diversity and modernity of the market and make them proud of our industry.

What is your Christmas message for your insurance colleagues?

Given what I do, I think my Christmas message would be to have lots of fun, but of course to be responsible, be respectful to others and look out for colleagues during the Christmas party season.

What do you hope to find under the industry’s Christmas tree for 2024?

From a culture perspective, I really hope the industry meets Lloyd’s women in leadership target of 35% (we’re close!)… and from a wider business perspective, that the market delivers a very positive combined operating ratio for 2023!
