For the fifth day of advent, Rhino Trade Insurance chief executive Troy Stevens discusses the likes of technology and carpool karaoke

Every day for the festive period continuing until Christmas Eve, Insurance Times speaks to a selection of industry personalities about what they’d like to find under the tree for 2024.

What was your insurance industry highlight of 2023?

2023 was a year of many highlights. The insurance industry can take you to exciting places and allows you to meet some very interesting people – I even found myself getting filmed performing carpool karaoke with one of our partners last month!

The major highlight for Rhino was achieving our biggest growth year to date – we hit our annual target back in November – meaning that we are continuing to increase our reach into our target market, aiding our goal for being the most popular insurer of self-employed tradespeople UK-wide.

What is your Christmas message for your insurance colleagues?

Our Christmas message to our insurance colleagues is well done!

Regardless of the sector you operate in, insurance seems to be in such a positive place, made possible by everyone working hard and working together to improve the reputation of the insurance industry.

To our Rhino colleagues, we want to say thank you and keep on innovating to meet the needs of our loyal customer base.

Oh yes – and I want to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

What do you hope to find under the industry’s Christmas tree for 2024?

As for what I’d like to find under the industry’s Christmas tree for 2024, a bottle of whiskey would be nice – and I wouldn’t say no to a nice red wine either!

In all seriousness though, I feel that technology really is going to be the key drive of 2024.

At Rhino, digital has been at the heart of what we do and I think that consumers are crying out for advanced technologies in this digital first age.

Having an oven-ready artificial intelligence integrated platform that makes our customer’s lives easier would be a lovely thing to find under the Christmas tree – perhaps one that is wrapped in some nice Christmas tinsel!
