The Lloyd's Market Association (LMA) has launched a web-based graduate recruitment portal in a bid to attract more applications in to the Lloyd's market from the graduate community.

Thirteen managing agents and five Lloyd's brokers are taking part in the launch and over 65 graduate positions, including roles in underwriting, risk management and claims, and broking, are accessible through the portal.

The LMA said the initiative was the first time that Lloyd's managing agents had joined together in a combined recruitment drive. Other managing agents and brokers are expected to join the project over the coming months, it added.

David Gittings, chairman of the LMA's professional standards committee, through which the initiative was generated, said: "The LMA Graduate Recruitment Portal offers a gateway to a career at Lloyd's. This market is an exciting and dynamic place in which to work and this initiative is just one of the ways that the PSC is looking to raise the profile of Lloyd's among the graduate community and make a career here better understood and more easily accessible."

Terry Hayday, secretary to the PSC and member of the Chartered Insurance Institute's (CII) faculty of underwriting said: "This LMA initiative neatly complements the CII's work on its TALENT project, through which it is seeking to raise the profile of insurance to schools, colleges and universities. "
