‘She joins at a pivotal moment in the evolution of our business,’ says chief executive
Digital insurance distributor Atec Group has announced the appointment of Kirsty Biggs to the role of chief technical officer, effective from 14 April 2026.

Biggs will join the firm from Vitality Insurance, where she has spent the past nine years, latterly serving as IT director for Vitality Programme Systems.
At Vitality she also held leadership roles including head of engineering and strategic change and automation lead, while her 20 years of industry experience includes times spent at Ageas and Fitness First.
Atec said that the appointment signalled its “intent to fortify its technical leadership” as it seeks to “build on its impressive growth trajectory and push the boundaries of people-first tech-enabled insurance development and distribution”.
Biggs’ primary focus will be the “evolution of Atec’s award-winning infrastructure, within a framework that is value-based and human-centric at its heart”. She will be asked to “drive modernisation and security, removing constraints and ensuring technology development is an enabler for Atec’s businesses, its people, partners and customers”.

Brendan Devine, chief executive at Atec, said: “We are incredibly excited to welcome Biggs to our leadership team. Her understanding of the rapidly evolving insurance technology landscape coupled with her vision and broad skill set, makes her the perfect person to lead the innovation that will power our ambitions.
