’I’m incredibly excited to take on the leadership of Bspoke Group at such a pivotal time,’ says new top boss
Bspoke Group has appointed Ryan Gill as its new chief executive after being acquired by Aon-owned NFP.
Gill, who was previously chief commercial officer, succeeds Tim Smyth, who will become deputy chair.
Gill will also join the NFP executive leadership team across the UK and Ireland. Craig Hunter, meanwhile, will remain in his role as chief operating officer.
“I’m incredibly excited to take on the leadership of Bspoke Group at such a pivotal time,” Gill said.
”Thanks to Smyth’s leadership, we have a strong foundation and an exceptional team.
”With the support of our new shareholders, the strength of our people and the strategic platform already in place, we are well positioned to realise our ambition to become the leading niche and specialist MGA in the UK insurance market.
“I would like to thank our customers, capacity partners and trading partners for their continued support and look forward to working with them on the next stage of our journey”.
Smyth focus
Meanwhile, in his new role as deputy chair, Smyth will focus on the group’s strategic direction and the long-term opportunities presented by joining NFP.

”Bspoke Group has experienced substantial growth in recent years and I’m delighted that Gill has agreed to take the helm.
“His leadership and vision will be instrumental as we move forward.
”I will continue to play an active role in the business and my focus will be on maintaining clear direction, supporting leadership teams and keeping momentum as we move through this important period of transition.”
Bspoke Group is a platform of multiclass niche and specialist MGAs and specialist insurance distributors.
NFP said the acquisition enhances its technical underwriting, product expertise and distribution.

His career began in 2019, when he joined a local north London newspaper after graduating from the University of Sheffield with a first-class honours degree in journalism.
He took up the position of deputy news editor at Insurance Times in March 2023, before being promoted to his current role in May 2024.View full Profile
