Managing director says the firm has worked with capacity providers to review and deliver a revised risk appetite to broker partners

Bspoke Commercial will look to do more business with brokers as part of the firm’s growth plans, according to newly appointed managing director Nick Grazier.

Grazier told Insurance Times that the specialist MGA’s focus was on “growth, developing and honing the existing product and service offering” and would achieve its goals through organic and inorganic growth.

As part of its plans, Grazier said the firm would be “working hard to do more business with more brokers, growing and improving what we already have”.

“To demonstrate this point, we have already made several key new underwriter hires to support our organic growth and worked with our capacity providers to review and deliver a revised risk appetite to our broker partners,” he said.

“All of which are already starting to make a difference”.

Vision and plan

Grazier was announced as the new managing director of Bspoke Commercial – part of the Bspoke Group – last week (6 June 2023).

His new role incorporates the leadership of the Bspoke Commercial, Bspoke Private Clients and Bspoke Sports and Leisure businesses.

He succeeds Gill Anderson, who was promoted to group trading director after Precision Partnership and UK General rebranded to Bspoke Group in September 2022.

Grazier said the strategy for Bspoke Commercial was a “blend of continuing to do what [the company does well] and having a relentless commitment to improving our offering, which touches product, service and people”.

He also felt that organic growth was just as important as inorganic growth.

“The vision and plan for Bspoke Commercial isn’t just about the new stuff, I have inherited a great business and a very knowledgeable team of experienced underwriters,” he said.


The appointee brings over a decade of insurance industry experience to the role, having held a number of senior positions at a variety of different firms.

This includes serving as UK broker schemes manager at Axa, head of musical insurance and alternate channels at Allianz and managing director at Geo Underwriting.

Grazier reports to group chief executive Tim Smyth.
