’These changes are all being designed to make things easier for our customers and partners and our people. Our priority now is to support those who’ve been impacted,’ says statement
Jobs are at risk as Allianz Commercial UK is set restructure its management layers.

In April 2026, Allianz revamped its commercial team after Nick Hobbs stepped down from his role as chief distribution officer.
In a statement sent to Insurance Times this morning (15 July 2026), Allianz said it was now making some ”changes to the way our business leaders report into this new structure”, with its priority being to ”support those who’ve been impacted”.
“Our vision is to be the easiest commercial insurer to do business with,” the statement said.
”In April we announced some changes to our senior leadership team for the Allianz UK commercial business.
“Aligning to this, we are making some changes to the way our business leaders report into this new structure. These changes are all being designed to make things easier for our customers and partners and our people. Our priority now is to support those who’ve been impacted.
“We are helping our people through this process, providing a range of support and advice, and consulting with employee representative bodies about these changes. As consultation is ongoing, it would not be appropriate to comment on individual roles or internal structures.”

Speaking to Insurance Times just two weeks into his role during the 2026 Biba Conference in Manchester on 13 May, Ktenidis says he is “really getting my feet under the table as we speak”.
And one of his priorities is ensuring strong strategic relationships with partners, as well as doing more in some regions where he feels more visibility is needed.
“For me, we have really good strategic relationships across the market and we have some really rockstar relationships across some of our regions,” he said.
“There are others where we know we need to do more, be more visible [and there are] some areas where we want to accelerate our service offering.”

His career began in 2019, when he joined a local north London newspaper after graduating from the University of Sheffield with a first-class honours degree in journalism.
He took up the position of deputy news editor at Insurance Times in March 2023, before being promoted to his current role in May 2024.View full Profile
