As part of the launch, a new class underwriter has been appointed

Arrow Risk Management has launched an international professional indemnity (PI) practice, backed by A rated capacity from a panel of Lloyd’s syndicates, as part of its wider financial and professional lines portfolio.

The specialist MGA underwriting platform said the new practice would build a balanced book of PI business across the UK and international markets.

Key sectors for the practice include design and construction, intermediaries and surveyors, alongside architects, engineers and solicitors.

Arrow said the business would be written on its MGA platform, which provides operational services and carrier data to support underwriting activity.

Appointment

As part of the launch, Arrow has appointed Nick Cox as class underwriter. Cox brings more than 35 years of experience in the London PI market and joins from WRB Underwriting, where he most recently held the role of class underwriter.

Before that, Cox held underwriting roles at CNA Re and Chubb and was also a prominent figure within the International Underwriting Association’s PI Forum.

Mark Harrington, chief underwriting officer at Arrow, said the appointment reflected the MGA’s ambition to strengthen its specialist underwriting capability.

“Cox is an outstanding addition to the Arrow team,” Harrington said.

“A highly respected underwriter with a strong track record in building successful PI portfolios, he brings deep sector expertise and is known by brokers for his proactive, proposition-focused approach.

“His technical strength and collaborative style have earned him wide respect and we’re delighted to welcome him onboard.”

Cox said Arrow’s platform and access to Lloyd’s capacity created an opportunity in the PI market.

“I am excited to join Arrow,” he said. “The team has built a platform purpose-designed to empower underwriters, combining strong capacity with a robust, data-driven infrastructure.

“With significant opportunities in the PI sector, I look forward to developing a strong, diversified portfolio on these foundations. It is an environment that enables expertise and supports long-term growth.”
