‘Their experience across member engagement and learning will be instrumental as we develop our offering for our members and the wider profession,’ says chief executive
The Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) has announced the appointment of two new executive directors in its leadership team.

Ben Turner has been promoted with immediate effect from his role as director of engagement strategy to the position of executive director for member engagement.
Turner inherits the role from Gill White, who retired from the CII at the end of 2025.
Turner said: “The opportunity ahead of us is significant, with real potential to grow our membership and further strengthen the value we bring to the profession. I’m excited about what we can accomplish together for our members and society.”
Meanwhile, Will Holt – who currently works as managing director for education and training at the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) – will become the CII’s new executive director for learning when he moves firms on 3 August 2026.
Holt added: “I am thrilled to be joining the CII, an organisation with clear purpose and ambition.
”I’m particularly excited about developing the group’s global learning proposition for current and future members.”
Instrumental experience
The CII said that the appointments “mark an important step forward for the CII group as it continues to enhance the value it delivers to members”.
