’I am thrilled to welcome Gallagher into the PWR family at such a pivotal time for the growth of women’s rugby,’ says executive chair
Gallagher has signed a three-year deal to become the official insurance partner of Premiership Women’s Rugby (PWR) until the end of the 2027-2028 season.
Building on its eight year relationship with Prem Rugby and its partnerships with World Rugby and the Women’s Rugby World Cup, this new alliance marks another step in Gallagher’s ambition to empower the next generation of rugby talent.
The broker will support the growth of women’s rugby both on and off the pitch by creating leadership, coaching and community development opportunities.
Prior to this partnership, Gallagher launched the High Performance Academy, which is a global development and leadership programme run by World Rugby that focuses on increasing the number of female coaches and leaders in high-performance rugby roles.
Sarah Griffiths, director of marketing and communications at Gallagher, said: “The growth of women’s rugby is one of the most exciting stories in sport and we are delighted to support PWR as the league and the clubs continue to inspire players and fans across the country.
”At Gallagher, we believe in partnerships that create real impact – not just brand visibility – so this is much more than putting a logo on a shirt. Just as we help our clients face their future with confidence in our day to day business, we are looking forward to supporting the growth of the women’s game and building on the incredible legacy created by the Red Roses this summer.”
A ‘steadfast supporter’
Earlier in the year, the firm also launched the Gallagher Touchline Academy, which is a free rugby teaching programme created in partnership with Premiership Rugby clubs.

It was designed to upskill 2,000 teachers within state schools by 2028 to shape the next generation of rugby players.
Genevieve Shore, executive chair at PWR, said: “I am thrilled to welcome Gallagher into the PWR family at such a pivotal time for the growth of women’s rugby.
”Gallagher has proven over many years that it is a steadfast supporter of rugby and has played a huge part in the game’s success over recent years. I am certain that bringing that energy to PWR will give us the perfect platform to capitalise on the success of the World Cup and continue to grow the women’s game and inspire future generations to pick up a rugby ball.”
